Why I Write Music

Have you ever had a bad day and a song came on and it was exactly what you needed to hear? I have. Music has been instrumental in my life, see what I did there? Helping me get through difficult times. I have been in the most desperate situations; broken, hurting, discouraged, and feeling alone and then a song comes on, and the lyrics and the message are exactly what I needed for that moment. I believe that music is one of the many tools God uses to help people.

I write songs to lift God up and to worship Him, but I also write music to encourage, inspire, and lead people closer to Jesus. My song “Empty” was written out of a place of brokenness, I was pursuing people and things to help fill the emptiness in my life only to realize that Jesus was the only One to fill that void. “Even If” talks about God’s faithfulness and that no matter where we go in life, we can never go where He won’t pursue us. Each song comes from a different part of my journey; my hope is that the music I write will meet people right where they’re at and encourage them no matter what season of life they’re in.
